Jets/Giants Stadium -- Proposal Studies

Secaucus, NJ

Involved Subsidiaries:

On of the most visible public projects in New Jersey over the past few years involved the siting of a new professional football stadium replacing Giants stadium at the Meadowland Sports Complex.

The Kimmerle Group was retained by an independent development interest including former Congressman Frank Guarini, Hudson County and former NY Giants center, Bart Oakes.

The result was a plan for a combined stadium, training and practice field facility and sports retail complex located immediately adjacent to the NJ Turnpike Lincoln Tunnel toll plaza and NJ Routes 1, 9 and 3. The stadium plan with a capacity of over 65,000 fans included a multi level VIP parking structure. Direct access to NJ Transit via a rail line was an integral part of the plan, with frontage immediately adjacent to the site to Amtrak?s Northeast Corridor line (running from the Hudson River tunnels and connecting to Penn. Station, Newark and New York City).

Favorably reviewed by both the Giants and the Jets, the site remained in continued and serious consideration while the Governor and the Sports and Recreation Authority lobbied both teams to consider a joint undertaking adjacent to the current stadium sit in the Meadowlands Complex.
